| Lakewood Ranch has been master planned to include miles and miles of sidewalks and trails. This extensive pedestrian system starts with four-foot neighborhood sidewalks.
These link to five, eight, and 12-foot sidewalks along throughways and common areas. In addition, soft paths of mulch or grass connect to the sidewalk systems leading to nature areas, waterways, lakes and preserves.
Special features such as wooden bridges and interpretive stations enhance the experience making walking, jogging, riding or blading a fun and healthy experience. | |

The trail system also leads to schools, retail and employment areas to provide a convenient and practical transportation alternative to using an automobile.
Trails are already in place in the residential villages, Town Center and Corporate Park.
Lakewood Ranch Boulevard offers pedestrian travel, east of I-75, from State Road 64 to south of University Parkway. Over the next few years, as the full system is completed, Lakewood Ranch will boast one of the most extensive master trail systems |
